While traditionally associated with sports, coaching has become applicable in every area, such as business, professional, personal, and life in general. It is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future.
The purpose of coaching is to unlock your potential to maximize performance and is defined in many ways:
International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching is not therapy, consulting, mentoring, or training. You will experience fresh perspectives on unique challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out your chosen work and life roles. As your coach, I give support, Listen, and challenge you in your journey. I keep you accountable for your decisions and will celebrate with you your successes and achievements. I will help you reframe perspectives and see where you need to move forward at this point.
Coaching is not leading your decisions nor making choices for you. And Remember that Coaching is free of judgment.
